(Spoken)
It’s been along time since I felt like this …
Searching for words I couldn’t find …
When I was young enough
To have the courage to say them …
So … maybe …

If you just tell me what you’re looking for
I’ll tell you what I can be.
Oh, and I won’t say no lies to you
If you don’t ask too much.
I’ll try to be strong when you need me to;
I’ll return the gentle touch.

Oh, and I’m not sure I remember
What the word love used to mean,
But it was safe and warm
And free from harm …
It was hope when times were lean.

            Would you like to try and teach me love again?
Make me come alive inside again.
Would you like to try and love me?

(spoken)
It’s been along time since I felt like this.
Shufflin’ my silly feet like a fifteen year old
And thinkin’ maybe …
Maybe this time …

If we both find what we’re looking for
What a story we might be.
After all those years with someone
And these last some years alone.
Could we take a chance – just one more dance.
Could we make each other home.

Where the past will be a memory,
Which is what the past should be;
Not a picture frame for blame or shame
Just a page in history.

Would you like to try and  teach me love again?
Make me come alive inside again.
Would you like to try and love me?
